The height of the foot's sole makes it possible to quilt along all the edges of these rulers which is of utmost importance especially with circles. CLOTHING

We welcome our latest addition to our teachers now at Cherry Berry Bakersfield.

Terry Pederson, Home Economist and avid sewist.  Started the  Bakersfield Apparel Design career path at Bakersfield High in 1999.  Over the next 16 years equipped the sewing lab with state of the art Bernina sewing machines, sergers and Deco embroidery machines. Roughly 1,200 student were introduced to sewing and design basics since the program's inception.

Terry was actively involved in promoting Fashion as art and her courses were  approved by the University of California for fine art/college prep credit.

Suzanne Zing @ Strawberry Patches was the first business to hire one of Terry's students, Rosemary Robinson in 2003.  Rosemary graduated from San Francisco State in Fashion Merchandising and Design and currently owns Portland Garment Factory.

One of the most exciting and motivating assignments in Terry's class was the newspaper runway.  Students designed garments out of newspaper and modeled them in a fashion show.
