Ombre Dresden Plate Pillow (BAKERSFIELD)

     Learn how to make a pieced/ombre Dresden plate block from a tumbler acrylic template to create a decorative pillow. Choice of hand applique the Dresden to background or to machine applique. Participants will need the Lori Holt’s tumbler template is required for this cute Dresden pillow. Pull an assortment of tonal prints and learn how to arrange in an ombre pattern. I will provide the instructions for the center and information about yardage for pillow backing to finish the pillow.


Supply List:
* Sewing Machine in good working order
* Open Toe foot for your machine
* 1/4" Foot for your machine
* Rotary cutter/mat
* Lori Holt’s tumbler template
* Scissors
* Roxanne’s Glue Baste it
* Small task lamp (optional),
* Fine water soluble marking pen.
* Flower pins or long pins
* Best Press/task iron/protective mat surface

Fabrics:
* Assortment of fabrics (8) 1” x WOF fabrics in a single colorway, from light to dark (for
example aqua/greens – light/medium/dark, or blush/pinks – light/medium/dark)
* 8”x8” center fabric for circle – have fun choosing a focal print
* Thread to match fabrics to piece the Dresden blades
* Silk 100 wt thread or Cotton 80 wt if you plan to hand applique
* Background fabric 19” x 19”


* All Optional - Pillow backing fabric – 1 yard for 18” pillow insert (optional) or (2) ½ yard
coordinating fabrics. Fusible fleece/muslin fabric, 20” zipper (needed for Finish it Class)
Finish It pillow making class will be offered at a later date
