Plaidy Cake Quilt (BAKERSFIELD)

Students will practice their rotary cutting and using a combination of colored fabrics. Students will practice thinking outside the box to put blocks together. No over thinking putting fabrics together to make the blocks.
BEFORE COMING TO CLASS, HAVE THE BACKGROUND FABRIC CUT. THESE ARE 2 1/2 INCH SQUARES
In class we will be making the crib size quilt, and will only be making the quilt top.
Supplies:
20 precut 10 inch squares or 7 fat quarters (Andi used a mix of fat quarters and scraps)
Background fabric 1 yard
Backing 2 3/4 yards
Binding 1/2 yard
Sewing machine in good working order with a new needle
Sewing machine manual
1/4 inch foot
Small snippy scissors and large scissors
One wound bobbin
Rotary cutter with a new blade
Rulers 8 1/2 x 24 1/2 inches and a 6 1/2 inch square
Cutting mat at least 18 x 24 inches
Seam Ripper
Glass head pins
