Folded Star Hot Pad (BAKERSFIELD)
This hot pad is put together with folds of coordinated fabrics. Students will be doing the round version in class but directions for how to do the square version will be discussed in class. There is some sewing and gluing involved. Not only is it functional but it's decorative as well! These make a great present for all occasions.
SUPPLIES:
* Folded Star Hot Pad pattern (includes one template for class) - available at the shop
* Sewing machine in good working order & manual
* Walking foot for your machine
* Thread & full bobbin to match project
* Roxanne Glue Baste It
* Straight Pins
* Wonder Clips (available at the shop)
* New sewing machine needle (bring extra just in case)
* Stiletto
* Small iron & heat proof pressing mat
* Spray sizing
* Scissors
* Thread snips
* Small ruler or hem gauge
FABRIC:
* 1/8yd Layer #1
* 1/4yd EACH for Layers #2, 3 and 4
* 3/8yd Backing / Binding/ Center square
* 1/4yd Insul Bright - available at the shop
HOMEWORK PRIOR TO CLASS: Cut out all the pieces as per the pattern directions. This will take approximately 3 hrs. Follow the folding/ pressing directions in the pattern for your cut pieces. Doing all of this prep work prior to class will allow you plenty of time to finish your project in class!
