Serger Club (CALIMESA)
Join us monthly to have some fun with our sergers. Each month we’ll focus on a particular stitch or technique.
For September - This month we’ll be making zipper pouches. Yes! We will be inserting a zipper with our sergers. These little pouches work well for cell phones and other small essentials.
Tools:
• Serger w/ manual, needles, and accessories
• Rotary cutter (optional)
• Ruler
• Fabric scissors, thread snips
• Straight pins or clips
• Hand sewing needle to baste
• Large eye hand sewing needle
• Point turner, chop stick or other tool to poke out corners
Materials for (1) zipper pouch:
* Outside fabric: (1) 15" x 5" rectangle & (1) 5" x 5" square
* Lining fabric: (1) 15" x 5" rectangle & (1) 5" x 5" square
* SF101: (1) 15" x 5" rectangle
* 1/4" Double sided tape
* #3 polyester or nylon coil zipper - at least 8" or longer
* 3 spools serger thread to match your project
* Cording for shoulder strap (OPTIONAL): 1 1/2yds
* Fabric to cover cording: (2) strips 3" x 22" (OPTIONAL)
